I guess we're doing a podcast.

A 2026 check-in on the state of the project and upcoming things.
If you're one of the many people I promised I wouldn't start podcast to, allow me to start off by apologizing. Secondly, I'd like to say, "you try starting a multimedia, publishing, and entertainment company without a trust fund."
Happy Q2 of the Twenty First Century! We're miles away from familiarity with no signs of slowing down. The project move to Los Angeles was completed in October of 2024. Immediately after came a year off from the project while I worked through a lot of 'next step' ideas. The dream big picture is an 800-1000 sq/ft studio and working space to have a live streaming set, a merch production area, and gathering space for all things creative. These things all take a great deal of time, energy, capital, and most importantly, demand. Considering I'm currently working a full time job and have a partner I actually enjoy, the road to the goal needs to start somewhere.
All ideas land somewhere in the nature of an audio driven show. I looked into starting an internet radio station. Once again: time, capital, equipment, money, demand. I now understand why there's so many podcasts. It's fucking easy. Get two yappy friends, a couple mics, a hosting subscription and a half-cooked idea and you're in motion. Luckily, I have the exact yappy friends in mind. Lis Dye, my first friend in Los Angeles, we met on a dating app and yapped for several hours after our first introduction. We then proceeded to hang out once a week for the last 78 weeks. Eddie Lynch, who we met in the strangest way possible, a coworker of a friend who's brother recently relocated to LA. We met him last winter in a coffee shop blind, figuring he would be a weirdo and we would never see him again. After a few months of traveling to destination weddings and buying a car to permanently relocate to California, we have him on the team as the audio editor and co-host of the podcast. I would like to thank the universe for allowing things to just fall into place. You would be surprised just how hard it is to convince two other people that your idea is the one that will one day bring them some sort of financial ease or expand their likeness in some hiring capacity.
My next rambling paragraph will be dedicated to the recycling program of California. I'm an east coaster where all the garbage and recycling gets picked up by the same truck for them to 'sort at the facility'. Here in California we have the California Redemption Value. Last year I started taking the empty wine and liquor bottles and cans home from work. Once a week I load up my prius with 400-600 lbs of glass bottles, cans, and plastic for cash. A full calendar year later I have bought a Rodecaster Pro II, five Rode Reporter mics, XLR cables, table top mic stands, adapters, headphones, and my new crown jewel, an M4 Macbook Pro. If you're on a budget you have to get creative. Rent here isn't cheap, neither is gas, food, electric, waster, and trash.
We released episode one on April 6, 2026. As of May 8th of the same year it's reached 38 downloads in three countries mainly centered in LA, Philly and London (where the team is/was/will be located) ((no idea who downloaded it in Kiryu)). Spotify remains the unfortunate king, followed by apple podcasts and weirdly iHeartRadio and Facebook?
